One of the biggest music events of the year, Coachella, boasts some of the coolest, wackiest, and trendiest fashion we've seen all year. Showcasing styles like Bohemian, retro, street, and more, the celebrities aren't the only people worth looking at when in the California desert. Here are some of the top outfits we've seen from these stylish people.
The Blue Wig Group
Coachella is the perfect time to let your hair down, or in this case let your blue wig down - in a very literal sense. These party people look like they're having the greatest time in their matching wigs, waiting for their favorite artists to perform. Donning sunglasses, a cowboy hat or a visor, they are fully aware it's crucial to look cool even under the scorching Californian sun.
The vibes are good, the wigs are blue, the smiles are wide - and the music we're sure is worth every penny!
The Flower Goddess
Now look at this flower goddess! The flowery, flowing bohemian look is one of the staple uniforms of Coachella, and this girl sure knows how to rock it. Wearing gems, a loose shirt, and a large amount of flowers around her body and head, it's the perfect summer look to wear under the scorching valley sun.
We don't suggest wearing the gem stones on your face the whole day, though - even though they look beautiful, you'll get a spotted tan!
Two Pieces in the Same Pod
The matching two-piece outfit is such a strong fashion choice. Vibrant colors aren't always the only fashionable way to look cool when at the Coachella scene. These girls' outfits stand out for the intricate cut of their individual articles of clothing.
The tops are cut in a way that is very flattering and modern, while the low-cut pants are made of a light material that fits perfectly. These are great outfits to complement each other - they also look comfortable!
Did You See(-Saw) This Outfit?
The only ups and downs you should experience at Coachella is this energy see-saw - this girl is clearly having an up moment. Rocking an all pink outfit and cute space buns, she is clearly having a great time charging up her phone, while laughing with child-like glee.
It's actually quite cool - the see-saw uses kinetic energy to charge phones, so you'll be able to have the battery to take photos of your fire fits, and videos of your favorite artists.
Good Energy Is All You Need
Good vibes, flowing hair, oversized sunglasses? Check, check, and check. At the end of the day, the fashion at Coachella will only get you so far - it's up to you to bring the good energy. These girls are wearing comfortable yet classic looks that will help when dancing away under the hot desert sun.
It's important to keep in mind that wearing a cool 'fit won't always keep you, well, cool. A pair of shorts or a skirt can be dressed up with a few accessories such as a bandana, a side bag, and of course a giant smile.
Fries and Good Vibes
We also smile when we're eating curly fries. If you're going to stand out in a crowd, you'll need something that will distinguish you from the rest of the people there. Some brightly colored hair is a good way to make a statement. This girl chose to weave ombré pink hair extensions to make her look really pop. The accessories of the pink nails, red sunglasses, and jewelry really complements the contrast of black outfit she's wearing.
But putting all that fashion analysis aside, she's holding a plate full of curly fries and we couldn't fully focus on anything else.
Smile Like EVERYONE Is Watching
Our favorite photos are the ones taken candidly. This girl looks like she read the "What to Wear to Coachella" manual - and then made it her own. The fringed dress, the sparkly headpiece, and shiny fake tattoo are all staples at the music festival, but this girl's energy makes it stand out.
She possesses what we would call main character energy - the camera finds her so naturally and she just looks fantastic while dancing and smiling away.
Make Space for This Guy
We were going to make an "out of this world" joke, but we refrained. We sincerely hope you appreciate the restraint. At every musical festival, there's always people who dress a little... out there, let's say. Instead of dressing for the weather or according to a specific theme, they dress in fun costumes that make them stand out and are a great photo op for those around them.
We understand why this astronaut came down from space to attend. We would too, since Coachella is a once-a-year event - that's an entire revolution around the sun!
The Princess and the Boba
Is that a giant boba tea and a regular-sized girl? or a regular sized boba tea and a tiny girl? Regardless, we are loving the pink aesthetic in this photo. The matching two-piece outfit, the pink and blue bucket hat, the pink sunglasses - this girl pulls off the monochromatic look with a pop of blue so well. If you're going with a one color look, a cool hat can definitely add another layer to the outfit!
And yes, we realize that the bubble tea is a apparently a promotional item for K-pop girl group Black Pink - and we're not mad about it.
Now That's What We Call Polar Opposites
We just can't BEAR to think about Frank Ocean dropping out of Coachella. We can, however, bear this outfit at Coachella (shouldn't he be in the North Pole?). The costume theme at Coachella is also fairly popular, with people wanting to look as fun and outrageous as possible - why not dance away in an animal costume?
Though it probably isn't the smartest idea to wear an animal suit under the hot California sun, it certainly is a cool photo op!
Heart Eyes to This Look
We heart this look. This lovely young lady looks like a vision of summer mixed with sugar, spice, and everything nice. We've seen a lot of pink outfits at Coachella, but the cool purple hair and bright blue nails make her look almost fairy-like! The pops of color add such nice contrast, and create a nice cohesion within their boldness.
A bright pattern isn't always needed, and this girl chose cool textures and bright colors that make her stand out in the crowd.
These Friends Are Wearing NSYNC Outfits
Denim on denim? Someone call 2001 Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears - these girls are coming for their looks! We're loving the matching jean jackets that these girls are wearing. Accompanied by the rainbow lettering, the fishnet tights, and the flowing hair, these girls look like they're running towards the next stage.
It's a smart idea to bring a jacket around with you. At night it does get fairly cold and these cool jackets - cool in more ways than one - will certainly come in handy.
You Can't Walk Away From This Look
Look at these fabulous men walking! The complementary outfits are a popular theme at Coachella, but not just any simple outfits are going to do - if you're at this event, you better be dressed like an icon. The big bold sleeves with the matching bottoms are screaming, "Look at us, we know we look fantastic and watch us as we swish by."
When at Coachella, you can't just wear any plain old outfit. It may be a music festival, but the fashion is just as crucial to the event as the music is - just take notes from these dazzling two!
Hands in the Air, Sunglasses On
Put your hands up if you're having a good time! These friends are clearly all on the same vibe as they dance away under the beautiful desert sunset. The two-tone outfits that they're all wearing look very cool and comfortable to wear while dancing around in the dry heat.
The mixture of the flow-y skirts, shirts and dresses, the baggy pants, and the sunglasses shows that fashion doesn't always have to be uncomfortable to look cool. These guys are a positive case in point, aren't they?
The Pink Panther Pals
At Coachella we wear pink (we had to use a Mean Girls reference)! Pink is a popular color choice for party goers as it's considered a fun, flirty color that really contributes to the festive energy. These girls are rocking the strappy clothing, and one went one step beyond by wearing the classic cowboy hat that many of the attendees wear.
There is almost a costume-like element to their style that is seen in many of the looks at Coachella. Essentially, you're dressing up for the event but also embellishing the looks.
This Couple Has Star Quality
Couples that go to Coachella together stay together... or something like that. The matching couple outfit is another common theme seen around the Californian music festival. Wearing white shirts, colorful drawn-on stars, jeans, and a sultry gaze, this couple knows how to bring that star status.
We just know they planned their outfits a lot of time in advance, so that every day of the festival they'll have another matching couples' fit - that's six separate outfits for six days!
Flying the Flag Pink, White, and Black
The three pink musketeers take on Coachella! If you're going to Coachella with a group of friends, why not color coordinate so everyone knows your friend group is not one to be messed with? The Barbie pink, the black leather, and the white is a fierce combination of colors, and fits the overall cool fashion needed when at the music festival.
Color coordination is actually quite a popular theme among both couples and groups at most musical festivals. If someone isn't wearing the same color scheme as you, are you guys even friends?
The Bird Singers of Coachella
Orange you glad you decided to dress on theme for Coachella? These lovely ladies are dressed in one of the more popular styles found at the music festival - the tribal and bohemian look. These outfits, however, aren't just a cool fashion choice - they represent the dress of the desert Cahuilla Native American people and these women are bird singers - the storytellers.
We've included their incredible dresses since they look fantastic, and for the fact that we love that they're representing their people in such a colorful and musical way!
Our Favorite Fruit and Color, Orange
Orange, orange, orange! This guy knows how to stand out in a crowd. The monochromatic look is super popular in the fashion world right now, and this color is making a statement - he's here to party. The cropped shirt and low rise pants are also a fast trend, as it accentuates the midriff area and puts the attention on the right places.
The matching glasses, the fuzzy jacket, and the fanny pack are such cool accessories to pair with your already monochrome look! Take notes, people.
There's Nothing Neutral About Good Friends
Now this friend group has a collectively cool aesthetic. Although they're all wearing different styles of clothes, there is a cohesion that's very complementary. The neutral tones, the gold/beaded and wooden jewelry, and the very natural soft makeup all go together very well. They do look like they're having a great time.
They're expressing their own individual fashion sense, while spending time with their best buds at Coachella - we wonder if they're taking friendship applications?
Great Hair, Don't Care
We're not even sure how to describe how epic this girl looks. The fusion of a forest pixie, modern retro accessories, and the incredible two-tone purple and blue hair shows that she knows how to incorporate many different styles. And she pulls them all off so well!
There are people at Coachella who usually dress in a certain theme, but this girl has created her own individual style that can only be rocked by someone with great confidence.
Great Fashion Is Accessible to All
Fashion is accessible for everyone - just look at these folks! Wearing vibrant grunge street style articles of clothes, they are all smiles as they pose by the accessible booth. The modern sneakers, patterned shirts, and glowing summer skin - they know they look good and are bringing great energy. The accessible booth is super important too, as it makes it easier for everyone to enjoy Coachella.
That's really one of the best things about music - how it brings people together regardless of color, creed or indeed physical attributes.
Bringing Hawaii to California
Now would it be a real party without the Hawaiian shirts? Of course not. These guys know how to dress up for the event, sporting some festive shirts, shorts, and a pair of heavy duty sunglasses - they're ready to smash a few White Claws.
At every musical event, there's usually a group of guys that will just throw on a fun shirt - because you don't need to be super fashionable to go wild and get drunk with the buds.
An Angel Spotted at Coachella
We didn't realize an absolute goddess would be in attendance at Coachella! This girl looks incredibly ethereal among the beautiful greenery. Wearing a white bralette top, incredible chains of jewelry, and orange butterflies in her voluptuous hair - we are well and truly in awe of her radiating beauty!
Being able to highlight your natural beauty through simplicity and elegance is not something you see everyday. It's a mixture of confidence, good hair, glowing skin - and just naturally good style.
Sustainable Fashion Is the Way to Go
Always obey the 4 Rs of fashion - Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, and Rock a cool outfit while doing it. At music festivals there's always so much trash strewn around, so it's important to be considerate to Mother Nature and dispose of it in an orderly and timely fashion (no pun intended). This girl clearly has the right idea.
Wearing a light outfit consisting of a cool graphic T-shirt, black shorts, and a rainbow bandana - she's the perfect example of looking effortlessly cool while saving the planet.
Cartwheeling Around Coachella
Dragon Ball Z slides are certainly a cool addition to any outfit. This guy is cartwheeling his way through Coachella, wearing a blue graphic T-shirt and a comfortable pair of cargo pants. The baggy style is very trendy now, and is a common style seen at music festivals in general, not just at Coachella.
We can imagine a Goku-style outfit being very popular at Coachella. It has the cool baggy look, the pops of colors from the orange and blue, the epic hair, and the boots!
A True Blue Couple
This couple looks ice cool decked out all in blue. Within the sea of people at Coachella, the complementing couple outfits are some of our favorites that we love to see. This couple is rocking the cool, sleek summer look - the blue and white jumpsuit and a half open shirt with distressed jeans.
Wearing matching colors with your partner is a great way to connect with them, and for you to both compliment and complement each other - they look so effortlessly awesome!
Yeehaw! We Found a Cowboy
Who's that handsome guy in the reflection? The rodeo theme is probably the most popular look at Coachella, seeing as it takes place in the rural California desert, and this guy looks fantastic in it. The white jeans are so well crafted, the knit patchwork on them adding a cool pop of color - and we love a good cowboy bronze belt.
Wearing all white is a nice way to stand out in the crowds of colorful outfits, and definitely helps fight the hot beaming sun.
The Three Funky Musketeers
All eyes on them! This friend group has mastered the perfect combination of fun fashion and incorporated some costume-like components to their getups as well. The bright colors, the cool patterns, the wild accessories - we want to join hands with them! All of them are rocking different styles, but it just works if you're confident and add elements of yourself in the outfit.
Coachella is all about feeling yourself and feeling the music, so if you're dressed a bit outrageous, you're doing it right!
The Bucket Hat Bros
Bros that bucket hat together stay together. That's how the saying goes, right? The bucket hat is a staple accessory at most music festivals. It provides protection from the scorching sun but also adds an effortlessly cool vibe to your outfit. We've seen a variety of bucket hats at Coachella, some with cool designs, fun accessories, and even some that are one solid color.
The bucket hat is also a fun way to match with your friends, or just to make some bucket bros while you're out and about!
This Outfit Is a Sign
Now this is a look that can stop traffic, perhaps literally as well as figuratively. We're not sure where to start with this, but wow. Throwing on a variety of different wild pieces isn't so much about going with a specific theme, but rather you're there to make a statement. And that statement, roughly put, is "We are here and we're ready to go crazy."
The jester mask, the animated van necklace, and the serious shirt - we would ask for a photo if we saw him walking around (maybe he's a celebrity in disguise).
She's Looking Great Overall
This girl looks like she's having the time of her life! You can never go wrong with wearing a pair of classic overalls, with a twist of course. The mixture of colors of the overalls is such a cool addition to the usual one-note color, and fits right in with the hipster street style.
Her infectious energy, matching orange bucket hat, and funky glasses has us wanting to be her best friend - snap a photo of us!
The Hair Raising Look
Whip your hair back and forth! This photo captures such a great dancing moment. You can feel the good energy as she's dancing away to the music, her hair stuck in motion like she controls gravity. The colorful flowery jumpsuit is such a great outfit to wear, as it allows great movement when you're planning to tear up the dance floor.
Her simple accessories allow her loud outfit to speak- she's saying, "I look out of this world and the astronaut behind me agrees!"
A Friend Group We Want to Join
What a great funky fresh friend group! We're loving the different styles in this photo, the diversity, and the mixture of individual identity within this photo. Ranging from sporty, tribal, camp, and more, these friends are clearly Coachella ready and know they all look great in their own way!
It's important to have a good group with you when you're attending a large event, you want to dance with your friends and of course meet new people!
A Splash of White in a Sea of Color
Taking a step away from all the colorful outfits, here we have the simple yet classic all white. Standing in the crowds of people, this girl stands out as the white complements her skin complexion so perfectly. The monochromatic look is very popular, as you can see from the yellow shirt and shorts the person in front of her is wearing.
Simple can also make a statement, if done well of course. She's wearing a street style outfit that looks like she'll be comfortable in the heat.
